Woolworth Mansion fire (2015) Fire erupted at FW Woolworth's mansion at 77 Crescent Beach Road in Glen Cove on January 28, 2015. Built in 1916, the estate changed hands several times after Woolworth's death. The current owners (2015) are Mr and Mrs Martin Carey, who bought the estate in the 1970s. The fire destroyed much of the first floor bedrooms. There was also damage on the second and third floors. The mansion, formerly called "Winfield Hall" is located at 77 Crescent Beach Road in Glen Cove. |
