The Jacobean manor house, constructed by the architectural firm of Trowbridge and Ackerman for George DuPont Pratt, had gardens of unsurpassed beauty. Since 1946, it has served as the country retreat of the Russian Mission to the United Nations. The southernmost part of the original property is now the YMCA. (Caption courtesy of Joan Harrison) |
