Memorial Day Parade - Fighting 69th WWI veterans L to R: Bill Spenncke, Jim Grogan, Len Doughtery, and Jim Cocks march in the Memorial Day parade at the intersection of Glen and School Streets, then known as Oriental Corners. Bill Spenncke, a "Landing boy" was the model for the doughboy monument at the Glen Cove Public Library. This intersection where the Oriental Hotel stood is the the main crossroads at the heart of the village. |
