Thomas R. Suozzi, (Tom) born August 31, 1962, was the yongest mayor of Glen Cove when he was elected 1993. He served 4 terms in that capacity ending in 2001. In 2001 he won the position for County Executive of Nassau County, the first democrat in this position since 1971. Suozzi was re-elected in 2005. He was defeated in 2009 by Republican Edward Mangano. Tom is the son of former Glen Cove Mayor and Judge Joe Suozzi. In 2016 he was elected to be the U.S. Representative for New York's 3rd district. He was reelected in 2018 and 2020. |
