Description |
DeLamar stands in the enormous glass palm house adjoining the mansion. It included a pool, grotto, Tiffany glass pendulum, and an aviary of exotic birds. The feel of paradise continued outside in the extensively Japanese and formal gardens. During the Loew era, the gardens were turned into a golf course. The house and conservatory were razed in 1968, and today the property is a gated community, Legend Yacht and Beach Club. (Caption courtesy of Joan Harrison) |
